The American Academy of Research Historians of Medieval Spain (AARHMS) is dedicated to the study of the history of medieval Spain and related fields. The organization provides a forum for scholars interested in medieval Iberia whose work stretches over a broad range of disciplines. Originally the organization was grounded in a biannual newsletter and regular meetings at major conferences; now, the key component the work of the organization is this website, which aims to keep the membership informed about activities in the field and to facilitate scholarly collaboration and communication. AARHMS also publishes book reviews on this site and continues to organize conference sessions at meetings of major scholarly societies.
